Dog-Friendly Weekend in Long Island: Our Favorite Vineyards

Just 90 miles from the hustle and bustle of New York City, Long Island Wine Country offers a peaceful retreat for couples, groups of friends, and even those celebrating special occasions like engagements or anniversaries. But the best part? You don’t have to leave your four-legged friend behind! Long Island boasts several dog-friendly vineyards where you can sip world-class wine while your pup enjoys the open air. Below are our favorite wineries that you and your dog will love.

Macari Vineyards

Macari Vineyards is known for its stunning views of the Peconic Bay and its dedication to sustainable winemaking. Whether you’re sipping their renowned rosé or indulging in a flight of crisp whites, you can relax in their expansive outdoor seating area, where dogs are more than welcome. Macari’s laid-back vibe makes it an ideal stop for those seeking both quality wine and a pet-friendly atmosphere. Your pup will love lounging by your side while you soak in the beautiful scenery.

Jason’s Vineyard

If you’re looking for a vineyard that loves animals as much as wine, Jason’s Vineyard is the place to be. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by their adorable baby goats at the front entrance, giving the winery a warm and welcoming touch. The large outdoor deck is perfect for relaxing with a glass of bold red or refreshing white, and your dog is sure to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. You can tell right away that Jason’s truly embraces all animals, making it one of the best dog-friendly spots on Long Island.

Croteaux Vineyards

For rosé lovers, Croteaux Vineyards is a must-visit. Specializing exclusively in rosé, this hidden gem is set in a tranquil garden with plenty of shaded outdoor seating, ideal for both you and your pup. Dogs are celebrated here, and the serene environment makes it a perfect spot to unwind with a wine flight. Croteaux’s charm lies in its peaceful, dog-friendly atmosphere, making it an easy favorite for a relaxed day out in wine country.

Pindar Vineyards

As one of the largest and most well-known wineries on Long Island, Pindar Vineyards offers plenty of space for both wine lovers and their furry companions. With acres of vineyards to explore and a spacious outdoor seating area, your dog will have plenty of room to roam while you enjoy their wide selection of wines. Whether you’re a fan of their fruity whites or robust reds, Pindar provides the perfect setting for a laid-back afternoon with your pup.

Where We Stayed: Soundview Greenport

For our weekend wine escape, we stayed at the Sound View Greenport, a dog-friendly hotel that we highly recommend. Located just a short drive from these wineries, it was the perfect place to unwind after a day of wine tasting. The staff was incredibly welcoming to us, making it a great home base for exploring Long Island’s Wine Country.
