There are a few conditions to fly with your pet, but all-in-all, the conditions are very favorable and make total sense since they are specifically designed for the safety of all passengers. Even your fur baby.

Here are some of the specifics from Tradewind Aviation:

–   Each flight will not have more than 3 pets onboard, regardless of size, unless weather or other unforeseen circumstances require Tradewind to make a change.

–   Each flight will only have 1 party of pets that are larger than 21 lbs each, and that party of pets can only have 2 large pets, for the comfort of all guests, since the aircraft only seats 8 people

–   If the pet or party of pets weigh over 100 lbs, it does not mean that your pet cannot fly, but rather, it means that a seat would need to be purchased on their behalf. This results in allowing 7 passengers onboard, since the pet will take up an allocated seat. This is just for the comfort and safety of all guests due to the size of the aircraft.

Large pets need to be seated in the last row with their owner. This is done for safety reasons in case the pilot needs to access the cabin or if guests wish to access the snack basket (Yes! There is a self-serve snack basket and cooler with wine and beer!) or if there is a need to access the door of the aircraft. This prevents large pets from blocking the aisle.

We have been fortunate enough to visit 61 countries on 4 different continents and without a doubt, Tradewind Aviation is one of the few airlines that is truly dog friendly. They operate smaller planes, which is actually a benefit in our opinion. It gives you the intimate feel of a private jet (max 8 passengers in total) while avoiding the hassles, fees and regulations of the typical airlines we all know.
